New Models 7

MIT Collaborative Initiatives celebrated its 10th year with a one day meeting looking at the developments in science, medicine and the delivery of care over the past 10 years and where we may be headed.  We also continued the log jam theme, specifically looking at the difference between the perception and reality of current “new models” in health and the effect it has on lasting behavior change.

The meeting was held June 11 at MIT’s Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research.

MIT-CI brought together approximately 80 – 90 leaders from a wide variety of backgrounds including healthcare, research, business, the military, academia and many others.  It is hard to believe, but this was the 7th New Models meeting!  We revisited questions raised in earlier meetings about the future of health, whether there is a real “system” of healthcare, and identifying the biggest log jams to change.  We also highlighted emerging work in the the life sciences.
